Fitting instructions

1. Cleaning the surface to which the foil will be fitted

The surface to which the foil is to be fitted must not be greasy or dusty. Remove dust with water, and oil/grease with alcohol.

2. Soapy water/liquid for fitting the foil

Fill in a spray bottle (such as a flower sprayer) with minimum 1 l of water and add a few drops of washing up liquid.
The more washing up liquid you add, the more time will be required for the foil to stick completely.

3. Fitting

Remove the excessive foil. Detach it carefully, starting at the edge (Picture A).
Custom-cut foil should remain affixed to the paper base.
Now detach this foil from the paper and spray it with the fitting liquid on the side intended for sticking (Picture B).

In order to prevent scratching the foil during the fitting process, spray its upper surface with the fitting liquid too and wrap the tool you are using for smoothing (a credit card, the rubber side of ice scraper, etc.) with a handkerchief, tea towel or any other cloth.

4. Fitting - part 2

Start in the middle and fit the foil onto the bumper (Picture C). Help of two other people would be welcome.

When the foil is fitted, press it evenly and gently. Use the smoothing tool to smooth down the foil starting at the inner edge in order to remove water trapped underneath the foil.
We recommend using fingers when working around the edges, as this will provide the best feel and ensure that you fit the edges of the foil properly.

Carefully remove the water squeezed from underneath the foil to prevent it from re-entering.

48 hours are needed for the adhesive to work fully. During this time, the entire liquid will evaporate from under the foil and any small air bubbles will disappear. If bubbles do not disappear, you may pierce them carefully with a needle.
You can accelerate the drying process buy using a hot air gun or a hair-dryer.
The aforementioned tools should also be used if the foil fails to stick well or if you have put too much of washing-up liquid in the mixture used for fitting.

5. Warning

At the time of fitting the minimum temperature must be 10 °C. The foil is fully affixed after approximately 72 hours – you must not wash your car (in a car wash) during this time.
Minor scratches that may appear on the foil can be removed with a polish.
It is not recommended to fit the foil under the hot sun or onto the very hot lacquered surface, as the foil will deform quickly under the influence of strong heat.
